What reading level / age range is this for?

As a read aloud: age 5+.

As a book the child reads independently, 7 or 8+ depending on reading skill. There is more text than your average picture book but each page is illustrated. The stories are the perfect length for bedtime read alouds.

Kids as old as 12 would still be interested and engaged.
